Sorry about the delay on posting this video from past weekend, lots of catching up from last week. Here’s how it looked on Baldy on March 14, 2009 – early morning corduroy skiing, scenic pictures from the hill, variety mix with general public is what you’ll see in this short video.

Bryant Dunn is unfortunately absent this week but two other members of Sun Valley Ski Patrol, Dave Swenke and Sean Glaccum are filling in this week – along with Ski Patrol’s exchange visitor from France.

Get whipped into shape at the SnowSports School Bump and Carving Clinics.  

Ski the Bumps on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and improve your carved turns on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  All classes are from 1:30-3:30.  Sign up and meet at River Run Lodge. Must have at least 2 people in your group per class. $65 per person.

Sun Valley ski season will remain open through Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009.

The Early/Late Season Pass will be honored beginning March 23 and will continue through the remainder of the season. And, the $30 College ticket is now available to all college students and faculty with appropriate I.D.

The Roundhouse restaurant will remain open through Sunday, March 22.

We weren’t kidding when we said the skiing is going to be awesome this weekend! Around 5,000 people thought the same and headed off to make some turns on Baldy. Here’s how it looked on slopes of the mountain:

Here’s an image from our Snow Stake camera as of 4pm today – we’ve recieved over eight inches of new snow and it’s still snowing out there – skiing is going to be great over the weekend. Come on over to try for yourself!

Bring back the Glory Days at the 5th Annual Holding Cup Race Friday & Saturday,
March 27 & 28, 2009.
Put together a team of friends and/or ski-team mates from college and race in Sun Valley for the chance to win money for your Alma Mater’s ski team, club or athletic department.
No racing experience necessary! Each team must be comprised of four skiers at least 21 years of age and who have attended the same college.

All times will be adjusted using an age/gender-based handicap system.
Racing on Friday & Saturday:
-The top 8 fastest teams from Friday’s handicap races move into the Holding Cup finals on Saturday and all the other teams Compete for Carol’s Consistency Cup.
-Carol’s Consistency Cup is about consistency: the team with the most consistent handicap time wins.
-The Holding Cup is about speed: the fastest handicap team wins.

- Friday, March 27 / Time TBA – Holding Cup Handicap qualifying runs (2 handicap runs required per member)
- Friday Night- Race Results Party/ bracketing for Saturdays races announced.
- Saturday from 11am-2pm – Holding Cup Races
-First Place: $1500
-Second Place: $1000
-Third Place: $500

All prizes to be awarded to the College’s ski team, club or athletic dept.
-Saturday afternoon from 3-6pm Awards Ceremony / Apres Ski location TBA
