The Sun Valley Writers’ Conference is celebrating its fifteenth year in a four-day gathering at the beautiful Sun Valley Resort, where prominent writers will give talks and readings to a thoughtful and engaged audience. This summer’s program will include fiction, nonfiction, journalism, memoir writing, theatrical performance & music. Among our presenters will be former Secretary of the Treasury Henry M. Paulson Jr., Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, Academy Award-winning Actor John Lithgow, Poet and Memoirist Mary Karr, Economist Niall Ferguson, Travel Writer Pico Iyer, Human Rights Activist and Memoirist Ishmael Beah, Novelist and Screenwriter Dennis Lehane among many others.
The Sun Valley Writers’ Conference is a nonprofit organization that reaches out to discerning readers and writers from all over the country. It always includes scholarship students, and admits teachers and students free of charge. One third of our funding comes from the sale of tickets. The other two thirds comes from the generosity of individuals and foundations who believe that the literary world can make a difference in the shaping of contemporary culture. Tickets are $850 which includes admission to all events over four days, breakfasts and lunches.

Golf Season Passes are now on sale. Our new Medalist Pass includes unrestricted golf during the early/late seasons, golf-season locker rental, daily driving range use and indoor Virtual Golf. Grab your skis, your board, your Big Feet, your Snow Blades, your mono-ski, or something with a lot of wax on the bottom and head out to the mountain today.
It is the last day of what has been a great season and we couldn’t imagine a better day to end it on. And when your legs can’t take anymore, head to any of the apres-parties at River Run Plaza (with the Kim Stocking Band), Warm Springs Lodge (with the 812 Band) or at Apple’s on the Warm Springs Side. And don’t forget that any Sun Valley Resort Pass is a season pass today! So if you already used up your 20/20 or if you have a discount pass, today you ski for free!

Leave your car at home this weekend! The Mountain Rides Valley Northbound bus from Bellevue/Hailey delivers skiers to River Run Plaza at 8:30am (it will also pick skiers up at 3:17pm to take them back home) or locals can jump on the Green Route and arrive at :20 and :40 after the hour from 7:00am – 5:40pm (No service 10:30am – 2:00pm).
It is Thursday and the last weekend of the ski season is upon, so get your skis on, strap onto your snowboard and head up on the mountain. The conditions are perfectly springlike, with plenty of corn to shred, plenty of groomers to cruise, and plenty of the mountain still left to be enjoyed. After today there are three more days of the 2009/2010 season and spend them with us, on the mountain we all love.

The Sun Valley Gun Club offers Trap, Double Trap, Wobble Trap, Skeet, Duck Tower, 5-Stand and Sporting Clays. We feature Beretta shotguns and we use "light target load" ammo to minimize gun recoil. The First Annual Sun Valley Volleyball Classic will be held over Memorial Day Weekend – Saturday, Sunday & Monday, May 29, 30 & 31 at Sun Valley Resort.
