Yup, they outdid themselves last night at the River Run Plaza…James Taylor and our favorite local singer and activist Carole King put on an amazing show, fullof nostalgia, great music, and good times. I had more than one person comment on how fun it was to go to a show where you knew ALL the songs… and most of the people. One group of cowboys and girls in a big yellow convertible were having WAY too much fun!
We were impressed with how comfortable the seating was up on the hillside. Room for all 4,000 folks and some more for the future, and the jumbo-tron TV that the tour provided was so clear from up above, you never felt like you needed to be closer…And the sound, clearer and clearer as you walked up the hill. At the finale everybody was up and dancing, and helping with the singing…We won’t soon forget it.
It was a little jammed up before the show as the early arrivals were forced to stand in the hot sun for so long waiting for entry across the bridge. The standing line for general admission went up the bike path all the way past the condos there to the north. Some suggested porta-potties would have been nice during that time. But it was a fun time for most, and we heard very few grumbles…
Next week, Dave Mason and the Disciples of Rock brought to you by the Sun Valley Ski Patrol Wednesday night. Its a benefit called the Celebration of Mountain Life and it promises to be a full day of events there on the Plaza at River Run. It is nice to see those guys getting into the promoting business too…We have known they had it in them and now we get to enjoy it with them.
See you there
