Kick-off Sun Valley’s 75th Ski Season this Thanksgiving weekend

Thanksgiving Weekend Dinner, Ski and Hotel Packages:
A wonderful family tradition – Thanksgiving in Sun Valley! This Thanksgiving Opening will kick-off Sun Valley’s 75th Winter Season.
Special rates commemorating the event will include lodging in the Sun Valley Lodge or Inn, a three-out-of-four day lift ticket and a lavish Thanksgiving Buffet in the Inn Limelight Ballroom. These packages start as low as $282 per person double occupancy.
The “Kids Stay and Ski Free” program also is honored at this time and allows one child (per adult) to stay and ski for free when lodging with the parent.

14th Annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival October 8-10

Sun Valley Resort and the entire Wood River Valley honors the over 160 year old history and heritage of sheep ranching in the region during the 14th Annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival, Friday-Sunday, October 8-10, 2010. Don’t miss the parade down Main Street in Ketchum beginning at noon on Sunday, October 10.

Sun Valley Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

On Saturday, December 18 the giant christmas tree in the Sun Valley Village will light up the night sky for the holidays. Festivities will begin around 5pm in the Sun Valley Village with free hot chocolate, cookies, ice & snow sculpture displays, Christmas Caroling and a special visit by Santa.

Coinciding with this event are the Sun Valley Wine Cellar Sale in the Inn Continental Room from 3-8pm, the “Little Clyde” children’s book signing with Lori Otter inside the Sun Valley Inn Lobby from 3-5pm and Mike Murphy’s free comedy show in the Boiler Room at 7:30pm.

Dollar Mountain Terrain Park Rail Exhibition

Dollar Mountain will be the place to be on Friday, December 17 to watch the Sun Valley representative team athletes hit all the big rails under the flood-lights.
Live music starts around 3pm and the Exhibition will begin around 5pm. There is no charge for this event.
Food and beverages will be available at Carols Dollar Mountain Lodge.
