To kick off our 75th Winter Season, Sun Valley Resort, Level 1, Monster, Red Bull, Smith, Apple’s Bar & Grill, The Roosevelt Tavern, Whiskey Jacques and the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation present The First Annual SUN VALLEY HARVEST: A GATHERING OF FILM festival, October 22-23, 2010.

A friendly film competition to celebrate the beauty of our mountain and valley, the talent of those who live, ski and ride here and the creativity of local and regional film & video makers. The first annual Sun Valley Harvest Film Festival will showcase local talent – on the hill, winter or summer, as well as behind the camera. Final Film Submission deadline is October 15!

The First Annual Harvest, A Gathering of Film is set to show Friday and Saturday, October 22-23.

The Harvest will feature EYE TRIP by Level 1, a special appearance by Director and Producer Josh Berman and athletes starring in the film including Wiley Miller, Tom Wallisch and others.

Another first will be the local premiere of Stan Evans’ “Say My Name.” Showing up with the Director Producer will be film athletes Grete Eliassen, Winter X-Games gold medalist and featured on the cover of the November issue of “Free Skier” magazine.

The event kicks off Friday, October 22nd starting at 4:30 p.m. at Apple’s Bar & Grill with an open house, autograph session and film entry viewing. Early evening entertainment will be Billing Montana’s own Taylor Brown. Entry fee is $10.
At 7pm, local premieres will be viewed – starting with TGR;s “Light The Wick.” At 9:30 pm the party, sponsored by Red Bull, moves on to Whiskey Jacque’s with a showing of Forums “F*** It” with the sounds of the Red Bull guest DJ Miller to make sure that
Post preview welcome party at Whiskey Jacques in Ketchum starts at 9:30pm.

Saturday, October 23rd, the Sun Valley Opera House will host an open house at 2pm and will include film submission viewing, an autograph session and special lawn exhibitions. Tailgate Alaska will be showing their latest movie starting a 4:00pm. “Say My Name” will be shown at 6pm and at 7:30 pm the Awards Ceremony will begin. Level 1’s “Eye Trip” premieres at 8pm. Saturday entry fee is $15.

The festival will conclude with a farewell party at 9:30 pm at The Roosevelt Grille with the sounds of Ethan Tucker and the brews of Alaskan Brewing Company.


Also on Friday through Sunday, October 22-24 check out the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s Ski Swap at the Sagewillow Barn in Elkhorn. Always a hit with the locals, you won’t have too much trouble finding great gear and apparel. Admission is only $1.00 at the door.
