We are excited for the Chapter One Bookstore grand-opening on Wednesday, December 15 in Sun Valley Village. During that time we will be displaying photographs by John Jonas taken on his journey to the Himalayas.
Chapter One Bookstore has been a local and tourist favorite in Ketchum and Sun Valley for over 40 years. Located on Main Street in Ketchum, and in the Sun Valley Village, this independent bookstore features a wide selection of books as well as a friendly and knowledgeable staff, out-of- print searches and special orders.
We have a beautiful selection of cards made by local artists, Buddhas from Bali hand made by local artisans we also carry a great seletion of ICU reading glasses to help you read your favorite books.

On Saturday, December 18, co-author and First Lady of Idaho, Lori Otter will be in the Sun Valley Inn to sign her new children’s book “Little Clyde: Horsing Around Sun Valley” from 3-5pm. You can purchase the book in the Sun Valley Signature & Gift shop and at the book signing. Don’t miss your chance to get Lori Otter’s autograph and make this wonderful, whimsical book a special Christmas gift for someone.
Coinciding with this event is the Sun Valley Tree Lighting Festival outside in the Sun Valley Village from 5-9pm and the Wine Cellar Sale in the Inn Continental Room from 3-8pm.

Ski legend Chris Davenport will be at the Opera House from 5-6pm selling and signing copies of his new book “50 Classic Ski Descents of North America.”
Second screening at 8pm at Whiskey Jaques in downtown Ketchum. Bring your Opera House ticket stub and get in free at Whiskey’s.

Quarter Dollar Lift will be running again on Dollar Mountain Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Terrain Park Manager Brian Callahan and his crew are installing five new rails, three jumps and three rollers in the Poverty Flats Terrain Park for all the jibbers.
