USCSA National Championships in Sun Valley March 8-12

The United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association is the sports federation for collegiate team ski racing and snowboarding in America. In excess of 178 colleges from coast to coast, field some 4,700 men and women, alpine, cross country and snowboarding athletes in over 200 race events annually.
Competition takes place across three progressive tiers. Conference qualifiers determine the participants at the six USCSA Regional Championships. The Regionals are the last step on the road to the annual U.S. Collegiate Skiing and Snowboard Championships, the showcase event in college ski and snowboard competition.
The 33rd annual National Championships in Sun Valley will be the the culmination of all that hard work. Events will include Nordic, Alpine Slalom and GS, Snowboard GS, Freestyle and Super-pipe competitions.
It will be an exciting week for the spectators but not half as exciting as it will be for the athletes who make it to Nationals this March. Best of success to all.

I hope Sun Valley can pull this off.

  2. The Old Man and the Ski Says:

Have no fear. There’s no reason the Sun Valey and Ketchum area would not be able to host a great competition. The weather forecast for the first several days of the event looks superb.

These eventsalways rely on a corps of dedicated volunteers. Maybe you (mg) can help out as a volunteer? The website I saw lists a contact person for prospective volunteers to get communicate with.

My wife & I will be arriving as parents from Wisconsin and we’ll be glad to help if we are needed. We’ve been to several Nordic Junior Olympics, the American Birkebeiner, etc., and people have always come through when needed.

Great idea! Maybe some of the locals will volunteer too. I just read on the USCSA website that Sun Valley is offering a days skiing for a day of work/ volunteering. The contact is mmcinnis@sunvalley.com.
