The 2nd annual Sun Valley Nordic Festival will feature nine days of activities, races, clinics and fun events, discounts on nordic ski passes, discounts on demos/rentals, lodging and dining, which showcase and celebrate Sun Valley’s well-deserved reputation as "Nordic Town USA.”
The creation of the Sun Valley Nordic Festival was a collaborative efforts from a wide variety of groups, individuals, and businesses, now known as the Sun Valley Nordic Ski Alliance, who are all interested in further promoting Sun Valley as a major Nordic ski destination. The idea to create a weeklong event that capitalized on the renowned Boulder Mountain Tour ski race and built in new activities that might encourage racers to come a few days earlier, but also to have activities that non-race skiers and families could enjoy.
The Sun Valley Snowsports FreeRide Team provides non-competitive training for skiers and snowboarders.
Designed for kids from 6 years through high school, this high quality, high-energy team, under the guidance of top free ride instructors, focuses on all-mountain, all-conditions development.
The program includes Saturdays on Baldy andnew this season, ‘Sundays in the Park’- terrain park and half pipe training along with non-competitive gate training. Open to skiers and riders intermediate and above. The Blaine County Student Pass is available for out-of-county students enrolled in FreeRide program.

“Attack of La Nia” is a recap of one of the longest and deepest North American winters on record, served up courtesy of the worldwide weather phenomenon known as la nia.
“Attack of La Nia” was filmed on location everywhere storms were served up in North America, including Alyeska AK, Terrace BC, Aspen CO, Whistler BC, Breckenridge CO, Mammoth Mountain CA, Stevens Pass WA, and many other world-class destinations.
The Family of Woman Film Festival will present five feature length films, both documentaries and dramas, highlighting the condition of women in the countries UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) serves in developing nations and Eastern Europe.

Filmmakers will be present to answer questions after each film.
Tickets are $15 per film, and $60 for all five films.
Tickets may be purchased at Chapter One Bookstore and Iconoclast Books two weeks prior to the festival and will also be available at the box office on performance days.
