Sun Valley Summer Symphony Free Concert Series – Mason Bates & Joshua Bell. August 16th @ 6:30pm

On this program, two of today’s most sought-after musical artists will appear on the Pavilion stage.  The innovative composer Mason Bates brings together sounds of the concert hall and the dance club in his “techno-Scherzo” Mothership.  In addition, our audience will be the first to sample his latest piece, the world premiere of a work commissioned by the Sun Valley Summer Symphony.  Sun Valley favorite Joshua Bell adds his inimitable talents to Bruch’s beloved Violin Concerto, a piece whose broad, graceful melodies perfectly match Joshua Bell’s dazzling lyrical sensibility. Sun Valley Summer Symphony Free Concert Series – Joshua Roman. August 12th @ 6:30pm

Dubbed a “Classical Rock Star”, cellist Joshua Roman joins the Sun Valley Summer Symphony in a performance of Shostakovich’s darkly intense First Cello Concerto.  We balance the mood with one of the most outrageous portraits ever produced, Richard Strauss’s take on the slippery trickster, Till Eulenspiegel.
