“SKI FOR AIR SERVICE DAY RETURNS ON JANUARY 27 WITH $40 LIFT TICKET AT SUN VALLEY ”
Fly Sun Valley Alliance (FSVA) and the Sun Valley Resort have teamed up again to present SKI FOR AIR SERVICE community ski day by offering a full-day $40 lift ticket for skiing at Sun Valley on Sunday, January 27, along with an après ski party from 3-5pm at River Run featuring live music and a raffle offering a variety of prizes including 4 roundtrip tickets on Alaska Airlines. All proceeds for the day will support air service to Sun Valley.
A limited number of the discounted $40 SKI FOR AIR SERVICE lift tickets will be available for sale in advance, for cash or credit card purchase only, from January 16-26 at the following local and regional ski & snowboard shops: Sturtevants (Ketchum & Hailey), Board Bin, PKs Ski & Sports, Formula Sports,Ski Tek, as well as Elevation Sports in Twin Falls and Newt & Harold’s in Boise. No $40 lift tickets will be sold on January 27. The ski shops will also be offering 50% off on demos and rentals for the day, and several local lodging properties will offer 50% off nightly room rentals for the weekend, making it an extremely affordable ski weekend for both locals and visitors.
All proceeds from the sale of the SKI FOR AIR SERVICE lift tickets and raffle tickets will go to support the non-profit FSVA’s efforts to maintain and increase commercial air service to the Sun Valley area. Research shows that flights to Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN) bring in over 41,000 visitors and part-time residents/second homeowners each year with an annual estimated economic impact of over $180 million during their visits.

Seder noted that the entire community benefits significantly from air service and this is another unique way that people can have fun while supporting an important cause that impacts the local economy, many different types of business and thousands of local jobs.
Ticket Sales
The $40 SKI FOR AIR SERVICE lift tickets will go on sale at participating retailers on Wednesday, January 16 and will continue through Saturday, January 26, or until the limited number of lift tickets available are sold-out. The $40 lift tickets will not be available for sale on SKI FOR AIR SERVICE Community Ski Day on Sunday, January 27. Lift Ticket purchases are cash or credit card only and not refundable. There is a 3% processing fee added to credit card sales. There is no limit to the amount of tickets an individual may purchase.
Apres Ski Party and Raffle
As part of the SKI FOR AIR SERVICE ski day, FSVA will be holding a raffle with some great prizes for the lucky winners, including:
- 4 Roundtrip Tickets on Alaska Airlines system-wide ($2200 value)
- ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals Sun Valley 2 bedroom condo rental for for 2 nights ($600 value)
- Gifts certificates for local businesses and more!
Each SKI FOR AIR SERVICE lift ticket purchaser will receive a special 2-for 1 voucher with their ticket that allows them to get double the amount of raffle tickets they purchase. Raffle tickets will cost $10 each and will be available for sale at participating ski shops and all day on January 27 at both the River Run and Warm Springs Day lodges.
