Idaho Pump Track State Championships
Monday, July 2nd • 6 - 8 p.m.
THIRD ANNUAL IDAHO PUMP TRACK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Over a hundred kids and half as many big kids turned out last year to take each other down in this timed race on the Ketchum Bike Park’s buttery smooth track. Adults and kids pack the infield in a great family night of racing and fun.
FORMAT
The classes are divided into different age groups with boy’s and girl’s categories:
-Mini Racing (4 & Under)
-9 & Under
-13 & Under
-Open/ Pro
Based on one run of two timed laps, competitors ‘pump’ their bikes to maintain speed around the course. Three second penalty for any pedal stroke (Open Class, and 13 and Under Class). The fastest two lap time wins.
Registration and Practice at 5pm. Mini Racing Class begins at 6pm, followed by 9 & Under Girls, 9 & Under Boys, 13 & Under Girls, 13 & Under Boys, Open Women, and Open Men. Start times for individual classes based on number of participants.
BIKE PARK DESCRIPTION
Built in October 2009 by Alpine Bike Parks, the Ketchum Bike Park is one of the nation’s premiere public pump track facilities. With an open layout similar to a skatepark, the Ketchum Bike Park features full irrigation for perfect dirt, native landscaping, and a large spectator area for families. The park is owned by the Blaine County School District and maintained by the Ketchum Parks and Recreation and a dedicated group of volunteers.

One of the longest running gut wrenchers in the country, this cross country and marathon race has drawn a crowd for over two decades. It’s the last chance qualifier for US National XC Champs, and stop #4 on the US Pro Endurance Tour racing calendar. This year there is a new course configuration to add some variety for Grinder veterans. With great racing in a spectacular setting, this is a perfect way to kick off the Ride Sun Valley Bike Festival.

1. Flight 1: Juniors and Beginners: 20 minutes
2. Flight 2: Women 1/Men 1,2,3/Master 35+: 60 minutes
3. Flight 3: Women 2,3,4/Men 4/Master 45+
4. Shimano Youth Series:
10 to 12 year olds: 1 lap on adult big course
7 to 9 year olds: 5 minutes plus 1 lap on special course
6 and under: 1 lap on special course
11:00 – Registration opens
12:15 – Flight 1
12:45 – Shimano Youth Series 10 – 6 and under
1:00 – Flight 2
2:10 – Shimano Youth Series 7 to 9 year olds
2:20 – Shimano Youth Series 10 to 12 year olds
