73rd Winter Season Lift and Mountain Closing Dates – Update

Sun Valley ski season will remain open through Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009.

As of Sunday, March 22, the Elkhorn lift, Half Dollar on Dollar Mountain and #11 Lookout lift on Baldy will close. This also will be the last day for the Roundhouse Restaurant.

Sunday, March 29 will be the last operating day for lift Exhibition #2 (ever – next year we’re having the new gondola run to Roundhouse instead!) and lift Sunnyside #6 – both will close at the end of that day.

Sunday, April 5, will be the last day of operation for Greyhawk #7, Seattle Ridge #12, Mayday #14 and Cold Springs #4 on Baldy. Seattle Ridge Restaurant also will close.

Dollar Mountain will remain open through Easter Sunday weather and conditions permitting.

Mountain dining – Roundhouse restaurant

Looking for a little bit of nostalgia? Opened in 1939, Roundhouse was the first day lodge on Bald Mountain. It is located midway up Bald Mountain on the River Run side.

Features sit down service around a four-sided fireplace. Great wine list. Non-skiers welcome. Buy a “foot traffic” pass and meet your friends for lunch. Open in the Winter for lunch only. Reservations recommended.

Seattle Ridge Restaurant and Some Terrain to Open Monday

Seattle Ridge Restaurant will open on Monday. Additionally, Leigh Lane and Broadway runs will also open on Monday.

Baldy will go to regular season prices on Monday.

If the weatherman is correct, look for more runs to open soon.
