World Winter Games – February 10th, 2009

Here’s what was happening at both Olympic venues (Nordic Headquarters adn Dollar Mountain) in Sun Valley during The 2009 Special Olympics. Be a fan!

Special Olympics in full swing!

World Winter Games 2009 and its Snowboarding and Cross Country Skiing events, proudly hosted by Sun Valley Resort, started on both Dollar Mountain (SuperG and GS events) and in Nordic Headquarters located in Sun Valley Club. Here’s a quick video look at the happenings from February 9th!

Warm Springs Superpipe and Terrain Park are open!

We’ve opened our Superpipe for the season today! Come on over to catch big air, try some tricks or just goof around ;)
Our terrain park is open for the public, too. Check back for more video updates from the slopes!

Beacon practice area

Baldy beacon practice area has been established between Christmas Ridge and Christmas Bowl in the trees where the beacons are buried. This area is open to the public and will remain open until further notice. Come on over, meet the members of our Ski Patrol and test your skills!

Baldy is now fully open!

Thanks to the recent storms and a stellar mountain crew Bald Mountain is now fully open. Recent openings include the lower bowls and the Cold Springs lift. Dollar Mountain and the nordic center are fully up and running as well. With more storms in the forecast look for more snow. For more information check out the Baldy, Dollar and Nordic reports.
